Dr. Amy Sarma is a cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital where she is clinically active in the Women’s Heart Health Program and the echocardiography lab. She received her MD and Masters in Health Sciences degrees from Yale University. Subsequently, she trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and then in general cardiology and advanced echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research interests are in cardiovascular disease in pregnancy: both with respect to risk stratification and management of pregnant and postpartum women with cardiovascular disease as well as long term cardiovascular health after pregnancies complicated by gestational hypertension. In addition, she is interested in better understanding sex differences and disparities after acute coronary syndromes.
